Being kind

Being a people person, I have found this whole process really tough: I decided to be kind to myself.

How have you managed? Have you found it difficult? Have you continued working? Has it been stressful? Have you adapted? Been inspired? Got creative? Taken it in your stride?

Here is what I did…

1) I decided to boost endorphins; doing some exercise (thankfully I continued teaching my Pilates classes 5 x a week) but for  me, myself and I – I’d would walk/jog with the dogs early in the morning or late in the day. Play music that I love like Norah Jones, Joss Stone and Katie Melua.

2) How to relax: I did this by filling the bird feeders and watching the birds come into the garden. Listening to their bird song and bird calls has been massively therapeutic.

3) Time out to read: Reading: I have read The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, Rachel Joyce, The brightest star in the sky, Marian Keyes and Where the Crawdads sing, Delia Owens. Now I am reading Grown Ups, another Marian Keyes.

I love the soft Irish accent, so I conjure the voice of Cillian Murphy as I turn the pages of her books! What’s not to like?

I hope you too found ways to take care of you.
